OUR SERVICES

Families play a key role in every child’s development. From birth to three years old, a child develops at a rapid pace. Physical, social, emotional, behavioural, communication and intellectual development depend in part on experiences provided by the infant’s family.

PLAYGROUPS

Our weekly drop-in playgroup is available to all families referred to the Infant Development Program. The group offers families the benefit of meeting other families with similar experiences in a relaxed setting. There are Infant Development Consultants available at the group to answer questions about development. Guest speakers are also invited on occassion

PLANNING WITH YOU

Home Visits are a key part and the core around which support and services to the family are built. Once you are referred to our Infant Development Program, a consultant will visit you in your home. Together, you will plan activities that best meet your child’s and your family’s needs. If your child has a disability (a special need), up-to-date information will be made available to you.

We are hiring!

Referral Process

Referrals to Infant Development Programs come from parents and professionals such as public health nurses, doctors and others who are in a position to assess delay in infancy.

Professionals and families can Download the Referral Form here or Fill out online here.

Weighted Waiting List

IDP prioritizes each new referral individually; some infants are automatically accepted at referral, others with less severe concerns may wait a little bit longer until space becomes available on an Infant Development Consultant’s caseload.

Drop-In

Families waiting in service are welcome to join our weekly play groups. See our Calendar for more details.
